Schools: Question of Faith
RE might not be everyone’s favourite subject, but we think it is one of the most interesting and important parts of the school curriculum! That’s because what we choose to believe about ourselves, those around us, and the world at large, can significantly impact our whole lives. We always prepare Question of Faith sessions based on booking information provided by schools, and send our planned programme ahead of any visit.
You can invite one of our trained Schools Teams to deliver an on-site or online Question of Faith session for your setting by contacting the office on 02380 550 435 or by emailing the schools team on schools@southamptoncitymission.co.uk

These longer experiences in schools allow a whole year group to explore together what “real, live” Christians believe about a particular topic, through a range of fun, dynamic activities including games, stories, quizzes, illusions, drama, puzzles, writing, music, drawing, craft, and so on. We are very clear to explain that every human has a right to choose their own faith, and that we have been invited to explain what that means for Christians; not to enforce any belief.
Each Question of Faith session includes a “Question Time” – an opportunity for pupils to thoughtfully reflect on something that they have learned during the day, and also pose any questions which they still have to one of the visiting Schools Team. We have started to compile a list of the questions which we get asked most frequently in schools, and recorded answers to these can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
Online Resources
During the COVID-19 crisis lockdown and beyond, we have continued to provide RE support for schools across the region, through interactive, web-based presentations, and on-site policy-compliant visits wherever possible.
Question of Faith “Online Learning Packs”
We think our Question of Faith days work best on-site in schools, however, we are also able to provide Online Learning Packs for schools who are unable to have us visit in person.
These packs are easy to access and use, as they are a self-guided resource containing the usual variety of activities we would lead on a Question of Faith day, tailored to a specific Christian topic from the RE Curriculum.
We can also provide a mix of both the above and / or facilitate live webinars if desired.
Our Team are happy to support RE learning from both the Living Difference IV and Understanding Christianity frameworks which we are able to cover on our Question of Faith days. Please feel free to get in touch for further information and to book in a visit.
